Kick-Ass, Hit Girl and Red Mist return for the follow-up to 2010’s irreverent global hit: Kick-Ass 2. When these amateur superheroes are hunted down by Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse)—reborn as The Mother F%&*^r—only the blade-wielding Hit Girl (Chloë Grace Moretz) can prevent their annihilation. When we last saw junior assassin Hit Girl and young vigilante Kick-Ass, they were trying to live as normal teenagers Mindy and Dave. With graduation looming and uncertain what to do, Dave decides to start the world’s first superhero team with Mindy. Unfortunately, when Mindy is busted for sneaking out as Hit Girl, she’s forced to retire—leaving her to navigate the terrifying world of high-school mean girls on her own. With no one left to turn to, Dave joins forces with Justice Forever, run by a born-again ex-mobster named Colonel Stars and Stripes. Just as they start to make a real difference on the streets, the world’s first super villain, The Mother F%&*^r, assembles his own evil league and puts a plan in motion to make Kick-Ass and Hit Girl pay for what they did to his dad. But there’s only one problem with his scheme: If you mess with one member of Justice Forever, you mess with them all.

Dzhokar Tsarnaev (also spelled as Djohar Tsarnaev), the current suspect at large in Watertown (right, above) taken from his supposed Russian FB page via The Atlantic Wire.

His FB page (not 100% confirmed as Tsarnaev’s actual page, though it certainly appears to be based on information available) identifies his Beliefs as Islam and his Personal Priority as “Career and Money.”

REVIEW: ‘Oblivion’ | by Bill Arceneaux

I have great affection for David Lynch’s Dune. It’s a movie that barely explains itself, but keeps throwing stuff at you anyways. Sure, The Original Star Wars Trilogy didn’t feel the need to spell everything out either, but it would at least establish and ground things to make the audience comfortable. Dune,on the other hand, expects you to have done some reading beforehand. Despite that problem, I really dig the flick. It’s a classic sci-fi adventure with a weirdo modern (at the time) edge. It has a real “you just had to be there to understand” feel to it, and, knowing that I can never go back and “understand”, makes melove it even more. (CLICK HERE TO READ MORE)

-Exhibitors desperate for ways to innovate and stay competitive are upgrading and remodeling to lure the 55+ crowd to the movies — and, hopefully, keep them there. In-house bars, restaurants, and lounges are on the rise nationwide and globally, vendors say, and that goes for theater chains and select independent operators alike with older and more affluent demos.

-Theater owners are eyeing conversions to one-stop entertainment complexes where patrons can catch a movie, have a drink, eat a meal, and socialize in one place — and with the industry switch to digital nearly complete, exhibitors are looking to spend on the next hot upgrade.

-Addressing the thorny issue of windows, Universal chairman Adam Fogelson warned studios and exhibitors that “we are all going to suffer” if new revenue models aren’t agreed upon. The studios are losing billions because the DVD market has declined and being replaced by a [less profitable] option. To have the money we need to make enough movies [to keep theaters full], we need to generate a proper return on investment.

-Fogelson urged theater owners to have confidence that “people love movies” and try to get past a “fear that people would rather stay home.”
